Essential Power Ltd is headed by a managing director with over 20 years experience in electricity supply and whose team comprises only electricity industry experienced personnel.

Essential Power has a licence to sell electricity to business customers in England and Wales and will be selling electricity to Half Hourly metered customers on an individually priced contract basis.

The price will be hedged 100% to protect Essential Power and the Customer against "futures" trading. The National Grid Transmission charges (Triads) will be covered by having a Triad reconciliation element to the contract. All other Distribution, metering, balancing charges and taxes will be passed through at cost.

The key competitive edge for the business is the ability to manage costs, have very low overheads and be able to hedge the contract price immediately. Aligning with "Green" generators means that renewable obligations are covered and savings will be passed to customers.
